Seeing Rick Perry Naked

The Emperor’s New Clothes Were Made in Istanbul

The perfect politician is all things to all people, and the closer a candidate can get to this position and cover their political warts, the better their chances of winning an election. Such is with Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Last week Gov. Perry attended a mass prayer meeting that was inter-netted to many locations for the purpose of calling on divine providence to guide the country in this time of need. It was aimed at the Christian voter. [1]

“Texas Gov. Rick Perry sent a strong message to the nation's evangelicals Saturday: he is a member of the important constituency for Republicans that he soon may call upon to help him secure the GOP presidential nomination.” [2]

Clearly he was currying the favor of the religious right that is a big part of the Tea Party movement, and Christians that make up a large part of the US populous; both which are very disenfranchised with the current administration.

The members of The Madison Institute were in attendance, and the thing that struck us was the heartfelt faith based statements that had all the Christian passion of a DMV employee stamping ‘revoked’ on an offenders license application.  We think he was exercising his oratory skills from a script and not speaking from his heart.  If Governor Rick wants to win over the discerning religious right he would do well to get his act together on portraying fundamental Christianity as his core of faith. To us it is a ruse. Remember: “The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made.”  - Jean Giraudoux (1882 - 1944)[3]

However troubling some Christians might find the apparently shallow faith of Perry, there is much more to be concerned about.

Governor Perry is, by seemingly all accounts, a career politician that does the bidding of the Republican Party and the global powerbrokers of this country. In2007 Governor Perry attended the Bilderberg Conference of powerful elites that are sworn to secrecy. [4] , [5]   It is very curious to note that the people who attend these meeting somehow become famous:

“(The Bilderberg) Meetings are closed to the public and often feature future political leaders shortly before they become household names.”[6]

The obvious question is who does what that makes these people ‘household names’?  The fact that the people that attend these meetings are politically powerful, rich, make their money largely by making deals, and people that attend become famous after attending begs the question as to what deals and arrangements are made that result in acquiring the publicity to make them famous.  Do they sell their soul for power and money? There is also a question whether attending is a crime by breaching the Logan Act.[7]  In a free and open society it is natural to ask these types of questions.

There is also the question of who is supporting Governor Rick Perry.   Rick Perry’s trip to the Bilderberg meeting in Istanbul in 2007 was financed by Texans for Rick Perry – headed by Jordan Root, the public relations manager and apparent toady. [8] , [9]  Jordan is an associate of Nobel Strategic partners – the guys who pushed W. Bush and D. Quayle in the presidential election. [10]

“Bill Noble has more than 18 years of management, public affairs, media relations, corporate communications and political campaign experience in Texas and California. Prior to founding Noble Strategic Partners in January 2005, Noble served as Senior Advisor to Governor Rick Perry in 2004. …. Prior to joining Governor Perry, Noble led the Texas public affairs …  with Fleishman-Hillard International …  Fleishman-Hillard, Noble was responsible for producing successful events and media coverage in 2000 in key primary states for then-presidential candidate George W. Bush and continues to provide event and media support for President Bush. …. Noble also worked in public affairs and media relations for USAA, a large financial services firm. He operated his own public affairs practice in Southern California in the early 1990’s. He served as Southern California regional director of the Bush/Quayle 1992 presidential campaign. “ [11]

The money backing and political support for Rick Perry seems to be coming from the Bush Republican Party elite and the internationalist / bankers that attend the Bilderberg meetings.  He is far removed from true Tea Partiers and fundamental Christians.

This is the TMI take on things. Rick Perry is in this race for one thing only – to ensure the Tea Party front runners like Michele Bachman, and Ron Paul [12] won’t win. The Tea Party threatens the two party royalty and they will have none of that. The Republican Party is desperate to keep control of their voting base and keep the party from drifting more towards a more ‘constitutional right’ position.  His national prayer meeting, to us, was an insulting sham.

Remember that record government spending and the passage of liberty gutting legislation like the Patriot Act were done under the Republican administration’s watch and support. Also, many of the globalist power brokers at the Bilderberg conference are Republicans.  It is reported by investigative journalists covering these meetings that all these immensely powerful people gather and there are deals that are carried out later – despite the fact that doing so is circumventing the democratic process.[13] Knowing this fact makes it easier to believe that Perry has been offered by the rich as a possible spoiler or winning candidate.

Jon Christian Ryter has written several good articles on the process whereby the mainstream media anoints the ‘only viable’ candidates, which are previously picked by the powerbrokers as winners and losers. [14] , [15] The designated losers (like McCain and Dole) are the ‘lesser of two evils’ and run pathetic campaigns that are supported by those naïve voters who believe that true constitutional conservatives (like Chuck Baldwin, or Alan Keyes) are unelectable.  Why do they believe that? Because the media that they so despise told them so!

All of the constitutional conservatives pray for a ‘Reagan Miracle’ to save them, but they do not have the guts to stick to their moral guns and elect the best candidate; like the voters did in 1980. In recent elections conservative voters have been driven by the fear of an ‘evil’ candidate– like Obama.  Out of their own cowardice in 2010 they sealed their fate.

However, there was the ‘Reagan Miracle’ in 1980 that bears evidence that if the voters stick to their guns they can have a quality president.

“In 1980 the transnationals picked New Worlder George H.W. Bush, but the media could not convince the American voter that Bush was the frontrunner because the working class—on both sides of the aisle—had already decided they were voting for Ronald Reagan.”[16]

By splitting the Religious right and some Tea Partiers vote the two party Oligarchy will be able to knock down the Tea Party favorites and at the same time insert Republican Party compliant candidates that will tow the party line.  Perry, as well as other media anointed candidates act as a spoiler weapon against the right wing / Tea-Partiers of the conservative voter base that have resonated with the majority of Americans.

To be blunt Michele Bachman scares the hell out of the Republican Party as well as the Democrats.  By all appearances she is popular, her message resonates with Americans, she cannot be controlled, and has entered this race to clean up this nation and revive American Exceptionalism.  If she wins then both parties and the mainstream media will have their exclusive club crashed by the unkempt rabble of the Tea Party.

Perry has been sent to save the Republican Party from their loss of power. Their worst nightmare is to lose control to the growing Tea Party masses bent on restoring the Constitution as it was written.

To save the Republican Party Perry will tout that ‘the most important thing in 2012 is to beat Obama’, and will take direct and veiled attacks against Bachman singing the same mainstream propaganda that ‘she can’t win’ because he has the ability to win… by virtue of anointing by the mainstream media and the Republican Party elite.  It’s a formula that has been used very successfully since they used it on Ross Perot in the early 90’s.

Bachman’s power base is the secular conservatives (Republican right and Tea Party constitutional conservatives) and Christian Conservatives; which is why Mitt Romney and Rick Perry are in the mix. Romney is there to pull votes from her secular conservative base with the ‘she can’t win, because I’m a more moderate and accepted traditional Republican’ propaganda.  However, Mitt is a Mormon, and has baggage that many Christians cannot tolerate. Enter Rick Perry.

Rick Perry has the Texas star power to take Bachman down by attacking the other pillar of her power base – the Christian conservatives. His first event, even before he entered the race, was a national prayer session. This was by design. It is hoped that pulling the weak willed Christian voters from Bachman will seal her fate; and some are falling for this.

As of this morning, ABC news anointed Governor Perry as ‘the heavyweight’ of the Republican candidates after less than one week of campaigning. The people be damned.

Perry will campaign on a media supported aura that he can beat Obama, and a record of his state of Texas doing well at creating jobs. However, no one will speak to the fact that these stellar job stats were the result of high oil prices and defense spending within Texas during his term in office. [17], [18]  Put anyone else in the governor’s office at that time and the results would likely be the same.  Perry had little to do with Texas employment; it was the Texans in Texas that made it happen.

This is the ‘Perry Miracle’: the good fortune of in state economic timing, and being anointed by the media and the rich. He was in the right place at the right time – in Texas, rubbing elbows with the powerful and rich like he did at the Bilderberg 2007 meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.[19]

The 2012 election is there for the taking IF the voters stand their moral ground. If not, they deserve what they vote for.

“The emperor walked beneath the beautiful canopy in the procession, and all the people in the street and in their windows said, "Goodness, the emperor's new clothes are incomparable! What a beautiful train on his jacket. What a perfect fit!" No one wanted it to be noticed that he could see nothing, for then it would be said that he was unfit for his position or that he was stupid.”

Trying to pick the best candidate based on the anointing by the news media and Republican Party elite is like trying to beat casino managers at their own game in their casino. They make the rules, fix the odds, and you will lose. If the voters however see through the royal clothing that the media and money masters have crafted and stand their ground, then – and only then – will the Reagan miracle be repeated this next election.  2012 will be the supreme test of courage and faith this county’s voter has ever faced. Cowardice by the voting public will be rewarded by the evil (lesser or greater) that cowards deserve.

INTO THE RABBIT HOLE

Into the Rabbit Hole

Like Alice in Wonderland – Congress in Washington DC makes no sense

Small remembrances from one’s childhood can linger into their adult life and make themselves known in curious fashion.  Such was the case when three members of The Madison Institute Association had lunch with a freshman congressman to talk about the politics of the day.

The Madison Institute Association (TMI) is a volunteer civic organization committed to, among other things, returning these United States back to a common sense Constitutional Republic – from where it has drifted afar.  We were particularly irritated at the congressman’s support in extending the Patriot Act (in May 2011) and wanted to discuss it, while the congressman had the budget ceiling on his mind.  All three of us supported the congressman as a candidate against his democratic rival, and took him to be a somewhat reasonable and likeable fellow.  The luncheon started very cordial, and ended fairly so, but the core of the conversations were pretty pointed at times.

In retrospect I couldn’t get the similarities out of my head between our luncheon and Alice’s Tea-Party meeting with the Mad Hatter, March Hare and the White Rabbit in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.  To be true the rarified air of Washington DC is much like Alice’s wonderland.

The introductory small talk included us asking ‘how it was going’ in his new position as congressman.  To which he replied that he had no time at all to do anything. He had come from a meeting with some organization, was going to address the AARP after our lunch, and characteristically ‘worked’ into the late evening attending meetings and conducting fund raisers. It was obvious at that time that we only had a few minutes to discuss The Patriot Act, which is a very complicated issue, and likely would only accomplish establishing positions of opposition in that short a time. We immediately knew that any success in explaining our positions would be at best limited.

“I'm late, I'm late for a very important date

No time to say "Hello", "Goodbye"

I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late

Good morning Mister Chatterbox

I'd love to stop and chatter

But in six and seven-eighth minutes

I must meet with the Mad Hatter

The mad, mad, mad, Mad Hatter

We must chat about a very important matter”

The congressman went on to tell us that he spent all of his time at meetings previously promised during his campaign, and at fundraisers – except when he was actually voting on legislative bills.  He divulged that as a freshman representative he was under obligation to the Republican Party to raise $75,000 to give them, on top of raising campaign funds for his re-election.  He was very adamant that he spent all of his time campaigning to civic groups and attending fund raising meetings to meet obligations and re-election needs.  Actually reading legislation, understanding the details of an issue, and making decisions were not part of his routine.

Although friends for many years his demeanor changed and then gave the group the ‘politicians disconnect’; which is a deportment that occasionally looks at the person being addressed, not really taking anything in, and positioning himself for the conversations that he would like to engage.  Their gaze is generally off in the distance just beyond those being talked to.  To be fair to the congressman, this ‘politicians disconnect’ is not specific to him as it is common to almost all politicians that we have spoken to. It must be a result of having to speak to so many people on so many subjects that one must disconnect themselves to assemble their thoughts.  However rational the apologetic, one cannot excuse dismissing weighing facts and arguments in such conversations.

We stated to ask about The Patriot Act, but were redirected to the issue of the debt ceiling. He started off by asking what should be done about the debt ceiling. This was a little odd because one of the TMI members at the table had personally handed him a ‘white paper’ on how to approach resolving the debt problem.  It was apparent that he had either not read the paper, or had forgotten about it totally.

We started off by explaining that the problem was not budgetary in nature, but fundamentally a monetary problem. We had gotten ourselves in this mess by congress relinquishing the job of printing and managing money to the privately owned banking cartel named the Federal Reserve.  The government printed the money, gave it to the Fed, and the Fed in turn loaned it back to the US government with interest stipulations.  The compounding interest is what has created the debt monster and cannot be resolved by cutting spending or raising taxes. All that would do is collapse the economy.

The gaze grew more distant until the congressman shook his head and waived his hand to dismiss the argument.

“Off with his head!”

The congressman then stated flatly that there were only four alternatives, none of which addressed the fundamental monetary issue that one cannot become solvent when burdened with a loan of compounding interest when you have crossed the Rubicon of the ability to meet interest obligations.  It is an impossibility.

The congressman explained the options and quickly revealed that he was in favor of a balanced budget amendment – then proceeded to argue the merits of the same. It was obvious that asking our opinion was an obligatory formality to retain the air of objectivity.  His argument included statements recognizing that the amendment would cause inflation and that inflation was good because it inflated salaries from which higher priced labor could be taxed and the debt could be paid off.

We pointed out the many fallacies in his argument;  that in an economy where the value of the dollar was falling (inflation) that all imports and materials would be more expensive, jobs would be lost, factories shut down, causing the economy to contract/collapse and the tax base argument was null and void. We also stated that the increase in salaries would not keep up with inflation (historically proven true), the middle class workers would be crushed by rising taxes, and tax revenues would lag inflationary pressures by a year from ‘income tax time’ – making the problem worse.

After a while the congressman conceded many of these points, but the next day at a community meeting he delivered the same argument extolling the virtues of the balanced budget amendment, which he now knew would not work and would mean disaster to the citizens of the US.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”

It was obvious at that point that the congressman had no time to devote to thinking out his own solutions with his constituents; he got all of his policies and talking points from the Republican Party (as do the Democrats).  We were not being asked our opinions on the matter – he was there to sell the Republican Party line. The realization that we do not have a representative form of government, but a government controlled by the heads of the two parties that gives the illusion of a representative government, was the most upsetting aspect of the meeting.

We talked about the Tea Party some and asked him if he thought that they would be a factor in the next election. To which he responded “What Tea Party?”  According to him (and we would suppose that this view is held by the Republican Party) there is no ‘Tea Party’.  According to them there are some people that espouse more conservative views, but as for a ‘Tea Party’ – it doesn’t exist.  The fact that the Republican Party dismisses such a large body of concerned and active constituents is most disturbing and validates the view that we no longer have a representative form of government. The ‘logic’ presented to the TMI folks at the luncheon is that the Republican Party does not think that the Tea Party can compete with the two elite parties, and that they (the tea Party members) need to pay homage to the Republicans to push a ‘conservative’ agenda.  Their hubris is without measure.

Alice stumbles upon the Hatter and the March Hare having an "un-birthday" tea party for themselves. She sits at the table and they both run toward her, telling her "it's very very rude to sit down without being invited", although they immediately forgive her after she compliments their singing.

Lastly we spoke about the Patriot Act.  The young congressman, like the Gnostics of old, was more than willing to engage in deliberative discussions on the merits of The Patriot Act because he had attended classified Department of Homeland Security meetings where those presenting information had a vested interest in making the threat to the citizenry larger than life; else wise their budget would shrink and their power base would be reduced. However, two of the TMI members at the luncheon were career professionals that were also privy to that information and were unimpressed with the young congressman’s new found ‘special knowledge’.

We explained that those in DHS promoting the act were conducting a sales job, the threat of a nuclear attack could not be carried out by a ‘lone wolf’, and that putting a six year old girl from Ohio on the terrorist watch / no-fly list did not make anyone feel safer from a nuclear attack (see news clip reference below)[1]. The fact that their argument rested on a foreigner stuffing explosives in his pants (the ‘underwear bomber’, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab) gave us no assurances that common sense was used in their thought processes.

What came to our astonished ears is that the congressman had no knowledge of what a data fusion center was, or what information it held. The fact that some three million people are being monitored and over 24,000 people are mistaken for someone else made no dent in his position.

The congressman came back confidently with the argument that he had no knowledge of anyone being hurt by the Patriot Act “I have heard of no one being hurt by it.”  Of course he dismissed the six year old girl in Ohio of ‘probably mistaken identity’, and the fact that we personally knew of at least two individuals that had their phones tapped because they met with members of the Christian evangelist organization Christian Coalition.

It was obvious that he was carrying the party line and was seemingly unmoved by any plea to examine the implication of the loss of freedoms by The Patriot Act. In his mind safety was much more important than any loss of freedoms.

The bottom line is that the whole of the luncheon was both enlightening and very, very disturbing.  The congressman at the luncheon decried the ‘100 or so’ other congressmen/women that thought that providing health care was a Constitutional right; all the while dismissing any loss of liberties for the perceived added safety that ‘big brother’ afford in monitoring the whole of the US population.

It should be noted that our lunch partner is one of the better conservative congressmen on Capitol Hill, but that in itself is an indictment that Congress is woefully short on Constitutional brains.  This may or may not be a result of the fact that our ‘representatives’ are now more like televangelists for their respective party than they are constitutional supporting problem solvers.  They do not represent us, and their ears are largely deaf to the solutions we present to them. [Notwithstanding those few solid Constitutional heroes in Washington that have to put up with these people – please pray for their strength, comfort, and wisdom]

So although we parted as friends, and we hope that our congressman matures in a constitutional sense and does well… we are reminded what Alice said about the Cheshire cat in the Disney movie, as he was in the tree and disappeared leaving only a smile:

“I have seen a head without a smile, but have never seen a smile without a head”

Well it seems that our congressmen are like the Cheshire cat – a smile without a head.  Welcome to the Wonderland of Washington DC.  A peek into the rabbit hole is as close as your local congressman…

The Cloward-Pliven Strategy And The Road to US Gun control

There has been a lot of talk about recent discussions by the Obama Administration on the UN Small Arms Treaty. While some just look at this as another exercise in leftist gun grabbing, or the knee jerk reaction of gun rights activists, we see that there is a solid argument that something more sinister just might be happening. There just might be an illegal manipulative effort by our government officials to subvert the US Constitution in an effort to remove guns from US citizens and to give enforcement authority to the United Nations. Let’s look at some of the details.

First, we here at The Madison Institute association (TMI) tried to get a copy of the exact wording of the proposed UN Treaty. We are good researchers, but we failed to find the text. We know that it exists because there have been comments made to the text by organizations privy to the treaty. This makes us nervous. Although the UN is adamant that they do not intend to disarm US citizens, we find it more than unsettling that the text of such a treaty (even in its draft form) is jealously kept from the public.

The UN apologetics brochure clearly states that a "sovereign State determines its own laws and regulations for the manufacture, sale and possession of firearms by its citizens."… but also it needs to be remembered that any sovereign state that enters into a treaty confers some level of authority to the other member(s) of the treaty(s). Additionally the brochure mentions their wish to have some authority over ‘transnational crime’ and the illicit possession and manufacture of weapons. Such language needs to be viewed in a legal context; which would beg the question whether or not the UN would have enforcement oversight and authority for those sportsmen who bought a gun at a gun show, reload ammunition, and travel to Canada to hunt. Would the UN require them to have a manufacturer’s license? Would the UN require all guns and gun shows in the US to be registered to determine which ones were legal and which ones were not – to fulfill their purpose of combating organized transnational crime… an objective that the US would be obliged to support if it signs such a treaty.

While it is a nice concept try to control ‘guerrilla warfare’ it is not a problem that the US has or its citizens need to bear the burden of correcting. Also, what would happen to those ‘freedom fighters’ in Libya? Would the UN force the US, UK, and France to stop sending arms, supplies and support to these countries?

But we digress for a moment.

While researching this topic we found an article from The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) that points out that the supporting argument claimed by Ms Clinton for signing the UN Small Arms Treaty is that the US is so bloated with guns that they are finding their way into the hands of Mexican ‘Drug Lords’, who are killing everything from kittens to baby seals in Alaska (Pardon the sarcastic humor. The death of any innocent is heart wrenching, but the apparent hypocrisy here is palpable.).

The problem is, that NAGR points out is that Ms Clinton is the proponent behind the weapons being in the hands of the Mexicans in the first place:

  • "The Obama administration and Hillary Clinton State Department assert that most of the guns used in Mexican crimes come from America, and that in the name of regional stability "more restriction on law-abiding American Firearms owners are needed and the United States must sign on to the United Nations Small Arms Treaty.

  • The BATFE begins investigating this "claim", and creates a "sting operation" to ensure American guns end up in Mexico. Then they force gun dealers to sell firearms to known criminals who smuggle the guns to violent Mexican drug cartels.

  • Agents on the ground in this investigation said that it was a horrible idea, but the operations were authorized and supported by leading officials in the BATFE and the Justice Department."

My goodness! We have a real conundrum here in that Ms. Clinton’s administration ships guns to Mexico, people get killed, and then she uses this problem as the poster child for pushing gun control… including the UN Small Arms Treaty. Presto! The Cloward-Pliven strategy in the flesh,… or, paper. However, this argument needs a little help in stretching the fact, in that of the 29,000 guns recovered there were 5,114 traced to the US.

So there you have it. Create a problem with a solution in mind, and then when the problem is realized you come in like the white knight on a powering steed to save the day with the policy that you wanted in the first place.

The bottom line is that there have been many reputable analysts that have came out publically that this treaty is a bad idea., Now it seems that there is felonious and treasonous manipulation going on within our government to deprive our citizens of one of our unalienable rights. In colonial times those persons would be brought up on charges of treason and held accountable.

Unfortunately our government has strayed so far from the Constitution that they could not find their way back if they were bound and dragged to it.

Burning the Quran and Journalistic Cowardice

Imagine for a moment if you will, that you live in a small town neighborhood where everybody more or less gets along with each other.  However, there is a bully that insists that no other kids can ride a bike in the neighborhood except him.  One day one of the children decides that he will ride his bicycle regardless of what the bully says.  Shortly afterwards one of the other kids tells the bully that someone has been riding a bicycle in his neighborhood, and he is enraged.  Not knowing who the offender is the bully goes to the local baseball diamond and proceeds to bludgeon kids at random with a baseball bat.  On child dies, several are taken to the hospital, and more are injured.

The bully goes home, where the parents have heard of what happened and heap praise on him, give him candy, and let him know that he can ‘stay up late' tonight to watch TV.

On the other side of town the parents of the boy that had the audacity to ride the bicycle in the neighborhood is repeatedly scolded by his parents:

"What were you thinking? You know that kid is nuts. Did you think that was a prudent thing to do? You know that someone would get hurt if you did that!!"

In the next city council meeting a resolution is passed that no one will be allowed to ride bicycles in the neighborhood unless the bully is out of town so that no one will be harmed.

While the ridiculousness of this situation is obvious to any thinking person, it may not be so obvious that our country is engaged in a parallel world where bullies are rewarded for their brutality, and those who wish to simply exercise their rights are outcasts to the point that laws and regulations are passed so that their actions do not enrage the bully.

On March 20, Pastor Terry Jones conducted a mock trial of the Quran "for crimes against humanity"; found the book guilty and burned it.  You see Pastor Jones was upset that 2819 people were murdered in the September 11 terrorist attacks , and that the act was celebrated throughout the Muslim world (regardless of the lack of media coverage that the celebrations received).  Or, maybe Pastor Jones' acts were subconsciously in response to his accumulated outrage over other murders in the name of Islam:

  • Major Nidal Malik Hasan massacred 13 soldiers at fort Hood while shouting ‘Alahu Akbar' on November 5, 2009, ,
  • The 14-year old Bangladeshi girl that was lashed to death on March 31, 2011 for ‘having an affair',
  • The October 2008 stoning to death of a woman for adultery,
  • The February 15, 2009 ‘honor killing' beheading of a wife in Buffalo, NY for seeking a divorce, ,
  • Killing of the Jewish Fogel family whose sons were 3 and 11 years old, and their daughter who was 3 months old (The three month old daughter had her throat slit; and for that the Palestinians celebrated ‘throughout the West Bank and Gaza' and handed out candies),
  • The killing of a Dutch film maker who was critical of Islam,
  • Or the 16 year old girl who was buried alive ‘for talking to boys'.

For the killing of the 2819 innocents on September 11 Pastor Jones publically burned the Quran... whose theology apparently motivated these murders. It seemed like the fair thing to do because Muslims have routinely burned Christian bibles in public as a form of protest.   ,
However, On March 24, the president of Afghanistan... condemned this "crime against the religion and the entire Muslim nation," called on the United States to bring Jones to justice, and demanded "a satisfactory response to the resentment and anger of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world."

At this point it becomes too obvious to ignore the fact that the people engaged in these acts, and those supporting them, are not ‘radical' Muslims at all; but soldier / psychiatrists, businessmen, leaders of countries, parents, Sharia justices, etc.
The backlash for burning the Quran was swift and brutal. Muslims ‘avenged' the burning of the Quran by killing at least 12 innocent people in Afghanistan, and the FBI said Hezbollah has a $2.4 million bounty on Pastor Jones' head.   ,    The violence continues as people are killed and bibles are burned.
Then there is the condemnation from within:

Bill O'Reilly ripped into the Koran-burning Florida pastor who sparked deadly riots in Afghanistan, calling him an "insane Christian" who has "blood on his hands."

For Pastor Jones's act of protest to obvious heinous savagery he is labeled an "insane Christian" who has "blood on his hands".  This comes from a person that is widely recognized as a Constitution loving conservative. Our question to Mr. O'Reilly is what Constitution do you support? Are the actions noted above consistent with the US Constitution, or another constitution that is yours?

Where would the US be if the patriots in 1773 decided not to throw Tea into Boston harbor because King George would be upset and punish the Colonists?  The Boston Tea Party was in response to The Tea Act; but how much more response would our 1773 patriots have had for the random killing of 12 innocent people because a copy of the Quran was burned?  Surely they would not have accepted it. Then why do we?

In this twisted and sick world of ‘political correctness' Mr. O'Reilly chooses to focus the public debate on the personage of the ‘insane Christian' who burned of a book out of protest rather than the truly insane response of the hate crime killings of at least 12 innocent people because someone insulted their murderous ideology.

From Mr. O'Reilly's journalistic point of view the burning of the Quran was the act of an insane man. I think that his point of view might be different if his last name was Pearl and his brother was Daniel Pearl; the journalist that was videotaped being gruesomely beheaded and having the videotape circulated throughout the world.  His ‘crime' for which he was killed was being a Jew. We cannot imagine the psychological devastation to the family seeing a loved one beg for his life and murdered before your eyes. Is it not more insane to fail to oppose these horrible acts in any way we can?

Calling evil out into the light of the public square to be dealt with is essential in maintaining our freedoms. Those who would cower in the presence of evil to avoid conflict love neither justice nor liberty.

Our Constitution has nothing in common with an ideology that designates women as second class citizens, calls for the destruction of a nation because of its ethnicity, and calls for the death of a person for exercising their first amendment right to redress grievances of a party - and how much more grievous can the murder of 2819 people be?  Traditional mainstream Sharia Law books teach that the monetary compensation for killing a Non-Muslim is half of that of a Muslim; which is a direct affront to our Constitution that clearly states that all men are created equal.

We have been told that our armed troops are fighting in the Middle East to secure the safety and liberties of the people there... but is that true?  In a recent article Mr. Pat Buchannan asked a very good question: "Who are We Fighting For?"   Are our brave men and women suffering and dying so that we protect the right to publically redress evil, or are they fighting for an ideology that thinks the appropriate response to an insult is to behead or stone someone to death?  Apparently our journalists are pleading the case for the later.

As long as we have gutless journalists (and we use the word ‘journalists' with extreme license) who fail to bring evil to light and stand for those on the right side of the argument then our great nation is destined to fail; for it will be those with vicious intent that will eventually overcome a society that will not plead the just cause of the innocent.

Using the analogy of the bully and the bicycle strips away the lies and intellectual dishonesty that underpin the argument that we should be outraged more at the burning of a book rather than the murder of a dozen innocent people.  The end result of bowing to the bullies of the world, whether intentional or not, is to form a compliant society where morality is dictated from a circle of influential cowards...  to the point of disassociating the religious ideological motive for the premeditated killing 13 soldiers, and the (NY Times) marginalizing the murder of an innocent baby girl.

How long will our society stand when we refuse to lay the blame at the feet of the criminals, and instead publically revile a man of God for being outraged that the public is accepting an ideology that has killed 2819 people, treats women as subjects that can be beheaded for dishonoring a husband, and commits atrocities against innocent civilians?

We believe not long.  We must all understand that...

"Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."- Elie Wiesel

Unless our nation can find the moral fiber to stand rightly against evil... evil will prevail, the fabric of our society will unravel, and our fate will be left to our cowardly political masters who will deliver us into the hands of evil and vicious people for the illusion of their own safety.

The Seduction of the National ID Card and Unalienable Rights

We at The Madison Institute are amazed that so many people have been indoctrinated with ‘political correctness’  to the point that they believe that a National Identification Card is a good thing. Many have said that ‘… I’m OK with a national ID card’ , and even the Eagle Forum has acquiesced to this ignorant point of view.  Let’s go down the National ID road for a minute to see where it takes us and maybe some readers will better understand the trap that they are falling into.

John Doe thinks that the National ID card is a good thing because there is a rumor that once he gets the ID he can apply for ‘trusted traveler status’,  and just whisk past the TSA gropers at the airport. Yep, he’s on the way to peace and safety.  John applies for the trusted traveler status and gets it.  Little does he know that he has not advanced his liberties, but has supported a system whereby the government now allocates freedoms of travel based on their bureaucratic (unelected) view of who is trusted and who is not. John plays ball and is compliant with the Federal government (a good servant of the state) and for that he has been given favored treatment by those wishing to be the masters of the United States citizens.

Over a very short period of time John realizes that the National ID has taken over the Social Security number as a form of tracking ID so that creditors and government officials can arrest him if he defaults on any payments or comes in disfavor with any government agency regulations.  He uses it as identification for buying his new house, doctors visits, insurance, fishing license, hunting license, buying his son his first .22, boating license, etc. Each time the transaction is smoothly made where his identity is transferred to the state / federal government data fusion center to see that he has no outstanding warrants for arrest, parking tickets, his utility bills have been paid, he has insurance on his automobile, his ex-wife has not accused him of abuse, etc.

John is an electrical engineer and a church going protestant, and regularly attends church meetings. Unfortunately, there has been a killing of an abortion doctor in a neighboring state, and his church pastor denounces the crime in the pulpit the next Sunday. However, John gets a message from a friend that as a response to the killing the department of Homeland Security is conducting wiretaps on the telephones of Christian groups.   Upon talking on the telephone he notices a clicking sound and investigates it only to find out that his telephone has indeed been tapped.

Knowing that the speakerphone he has in his house could be turned on to listen to private conversations between him and his wife, he writes the states attorney general to protest that there is no probable cause to consider him a threat to anyone and demands that his telephone not be monitored.

There is no response to John’s demand letter, but a copy of it is send to the Department of Homeland security.  However, shortly afterwards John does get a letter from the TSA stating that he is no longer on the trusted travelers list; but is not informed that he will have to submit to a more thorough inspection than normal because he has been put on the ‘suspect travelers’ list. His first freedom has been taken away.

John then goes to his local gun shop to buy ammunition to go hunting with his son, only to find out that he has been put into a category where he is denied purchase of a large capacity magazine, and that his application for a concealed carry permit will take 5 months instead of the nominal 5 days for Homeland Security to process paperwork that his state requires for the carry permit.

Disgusted with the whole situation John cuts his National ID card in pieces and sends it back to the government.  Three days later he goes to the doctor for a migraine and finds out that he is limited to taking aspirin for relief because the government requires a national ID card for the class of pain relievers that he needs.

Upon returning home John has a letter in his mailbox notifying him that he needs to report to the Internal Revenue Service to have his taxes audited for the past three years. John finds out that auditing ‘persons of interest’ is an amendment to the IRS code issued by executive order to catch terrorists that might launder money and his behavior has landed him on this list.

John is no longer considered a ‘good servant’ of the state, and for that he has had his liberties taken away.  He has unwillingly, and for no good reason, been cast into the group of undesirables that need to be more compliant, or face unending troubles. John now realizes that the sole function of the National ID card is to allow government the ability to allocate or deny liberties that were originally guaranteed by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  It is an instrument of control and power.

We here at TMI wish that people would be more vigilant and less cavalier when thinking of their freedoms.  Many people have fought and died to protect Americans from situations just like this.  Their blood that has been spilled for us is sacred, and should not be squandered for the promise of an easy life. We were not born slaves and refuse to be servants of the government for the sake of convenience.

We think that Samuel Adams said it best:

“…If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

Prayer at Valley Forge by Arnold Friberg Prayer at Valley Forge by Arnold Friberg

Reflections of a Christian Patriot

Just about everyone has seen the painting by Arnold Friberg of George Washington kneeling in prayer in the snow next to his white horse. The title of the painting is ‘A Prayer at Valley Forge’.  The breath of the horse tells of the bitter cold that day.  The painting was done in 1976 to celebrate America’s bicentennial and it became an immediate icon of the Christian Patriot.

Why does this image stir a man’s soul?

This painting stirs men souls because the God-given right for man to be free and live in liberty is not unique to America itself, but is within the very nature of man himself. Man humbling himself to Divine Providence, petitioning to secure the blessings of liberty for his loved ones and their posterity touches that part of the heart which cannot be touched by any power made of man… not even the most powerful government in the world.

In the 1770s, King George III found great difficulty when he sought to raise an army against the upstart colonists because of the widespread sympathy for their cause of liberty.  All of England, Scotland and Ireland felt strongly about America’s cause and fate.  The highest officers in the British Army and Navy refused to serve and openly opposed the war.  England’s recruiters were stoned in Ireland and tarred and feathered in Wales. Never had the British Empire had so much trouble raising an army. [1]

The famous British statesman William Pitt stated: “The spirit that now resists your taxation in America is the same which formerly… established the great fundamental, essential maxim of your liberties- that no subject… shall be taxed but by his own consent.  This glorious spirit… animates three millions in America, who prefer poverty with liberty, to the gilded chains and sordid affluence, and who will die in deference of their rights as men, as freemen.

“When your lordships look at the papers transmitted us from America, when you consider their decency, firmness and wisdom, you cannot but respect their cause, and wish to make it your own.” [2]

The thirst for freedom in the English common man and throughout the isles was not shared by The Crown, much like their American cousins today who thirst for liberty, but we are denied the same by our American royalty.

The picture by Arnold Friberg was inspired by the memoires of 26 year old Isaac Potts, a Quaker opposed to the war and who saw Washington praying at Valley Forge. [3], [4]

“I heard a plaintive sound, as of a man at prayer. I tied my horse to a sapling and went quietly into the woods and to my astonishment I saw the great George Washington on his knees alone, with his sword on one side and his cocked hat on the other. He was at Prayer to the God of the Armies, beseeching to interpose with his Divine aid, as it was ye Crisis and the cause of the country, of humanity, and of the world.

"Such a prayer I never heard from the lips of man. I left him alone praying. I went home and told my wife, 'I saw a sight and heard today what I never saw or heard before'… We never thought a man could be a soldier and a Christian, but if there is one in the world, it is Washington. We thought it was the cause of God, and America could prevail.”

The sight of such a great man praying alone in the woods stirred the soul of Isaac Potts then, and this image serves to stir the soul of men today…  But that was long ago and things are much different now.  We have advanced in technology, the arts, and claim to be a more enlightened people. So, is that really so? Consider these words that easily paint the picture of our beloved America today:

“The time is now at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them… The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. ”[5]

These were the words of George Washington to his troops in New York upon receiving a copy of the Declaration of Independence on July 6, 1776.  They speak volumes about the timelessness of man’s thirst for liberty, and the never changing threats to liberty by those wishing to lord over, or worse to enslave, the freeman.  How different is that than today? No different today.

The insidious corruption by liars and thieves has pillaged our treasury, and this tragedy has been promoted by our constitutionally incompetent politicians. Foreigners cross our borders illegally and make haste to our public monies, sell drugs, commit crimes, and are aided by complicit politicians. Foreigners of opposing religion that seek death to Christians and the subjugation of our Constitution are granted legal favor by impotent and cowering politicians. Our great nation rots from within.

Is this any more threat to our liberties than the British muskets and sabres at Valley Forge in the winter of 1777?   It is not.

Of the 11,000 men at Valley Forge, barely a dozen were equipped to stand the winter. Just before Christmas on December 19, 1777 the men filed past Washington, and he could only offer his presence and assurance that their cause was just.  The bloody foot tracks in the snow attested to poor conditions of the colonists, but they maintained without complaint.  Meanwhile the British soldiers were in comfortable quarters…  in a non-Anglican church they had turned into a riding academy; burning the pulpit and pews for fuel and setting up a grog shop in the gallery.  Is it so different now when our self appointed elite lavish themselves with special medical care, obscene retirements, and favored laws while the honest citizens are jobless, and those that remain employed are taxed into poverty? Are we not being ‘consigned to a state of wretchedness’ today?

Once again, liberty and tyranny struggle in the wintertime of the Christmas season. Liberty’s champions find themselves not in the cold of Valley Forge, but in the more dangerously paralyzing grasp of comfort.  No less outnumbered, but there are all too many of our brethren hoping that the masters we have created will find a way to continue our comfortable lifestyle that masks the rotting of our liberties.

However, the elections of 2010 are witness that liberty’s champions will not sleep, and the number with a keen eye on the truth is growing fast and joining forces.  These past several weeks have seen many meetings to joint the local groups together… much like birch rods of a fasces representing power, unity, and justice; to which an ax blade will soon be affixed.[6]

The call to liberty is a call to man’s spirit of freedom from oppression, and his submission only to God.  As in 1776 America stands as an icon of liberty in peril of falling to those wishing power over others. The champions of liberty here reach out to those who also thirst for freedom in Ireland, England, Canada, and throughout the world.  If we fall, and our great Constitution is torn asunder, then who will be the standard bearer of liberty? We have seen liberties stripped from our brothers in Europe and the peril that their nations are in.  Our hearts break for them and we pray for their deliverance.

The true Christian Patriot is much like Washington praying in Valley Forge in 1777. Our knees are bent to God in humility, our cause is just, and our pain inflicted by a more powerful evil is very real. Our sins are no less than allowing arrogant evil to prevail, and accepting their lies without question.  For this we pray forgiveness. This Christmas we pray to Divine Providence to deliver us from that which is destroying our land.

So why has this painting been so popular? This is a painting that has stirred so many souls because it embodies all that is a Christian Patriot.

God Speed and Merry Christmas-

The Pledge to Nowhere

The Republican’s Pledge to America is a direct reflection of the state of the Republican Party in general; and once the fog has cleared we will see that the Emperor has no clothes.

The Pledge to America is a harkening back to the good ‘ol days of 1994 when the Republicans drubbed the Democrats by promising a “return to the wisdom and brilliance of the Founding Fathers.” in the three-page Contract with America.[1]  Today in 2010 the forty eight-page Pledge promises “to dedicate ourselves (the Republican Party) to the task of reconnecting our highest  aspirations to the permanent truths of our founding by keeping faith with the values our nation was founded on, the principles we stand for, and the priorities of our people.”[2]

We think that they missed the irony that the much larger, forty eight-page pledge also promises on page six to reduce the size of government.

So how is it that the Pledge is trying to accomplish what they said they would do in the Contract? If the Contract would have worked we would have already returned to the brilliance of our Founding Fathers and would not be in the mess that we are in now.  The fact of the matter is that the Contract did not work in fulfilling the lofty goals that were promised by granting the Republican Party the majority that they pleaded for.

So who is to blame for the mess we are in?

Well, the Pledge makes it very clear that it’s those damn politicians in Washington DC, and they go into great detail in explaining “What we (Republicans) are up against”... trying to make the connection with the voter that the Republicans aren’t politicians.  Once again they miss the fact that 41% of those damn politicians in DC are Republicans.  In reading this Pledge it’s almost like watching a rerun of the scene where Jim Carey is beating himself up in the movie “Liar, Liar”.  Talk about irony...

Beyond all the buffoonery there is tragedy afoot with the Pledge.

The Pledge is a none-to-subtle attempt to co-opt the ‘T-Party’ type people, who are disgusted with the debt, loss of jobs overseas, collapsed real estate market, bailouts of rich bankers, obscene Wall Street bonuses to those who caused the economic mess, etc., etc., etc.  The list of destructive decisions our government has made goes on so long that books will written for decades trying to decipher their logic that evades us all.  The fall of the Roman Empire has nothing on us.

The Republican Party just doesn’t get it that the ‘T-Party’ people have the high moral ground and are demanding fiscal accountability, Constitutional restoration, and a reversal from an ever expanding socialist government and the taxes that are levied to support it.

To wit the Republican Party responds that they “...pledge to honor the Constitution as constructed by its framers and honor the original intent...” This sentence could be the icon for a party that just doesn’t get it.

The United States Constitution is the Law of the Land and is to be obeyed, not just honored. The Republican Party needs to understand that elected officials take an oath to obey and uphold the Constitution, and it is their sworn duty to do so.  This type of legalistic lip service given to the keystone and foundation of a great nation is a slap in the face all Patriots and all of those who have fought and died to preserve the power and dignity of this great document.

Sorry guys, but that statement just pisses us off.

Beyond this affront to the sensibilities of all that hold the Constitution and our founding liberties and principles the Pledge:

·        Makes No Promise to audit the Federal Reserve and make public the disposition of hundreds of billions of dollars in bailout monies

·        Makes no promise to revise the tax code to reduce the crushing federal income tax load on the American Worker

·        Makes no promise to abandon globalist policies that are detrimental to the sovereignty of the United states

·        Makes no promise to deport unauthorized immigrants (illegal aliens)

·        Makes no promise to stop amnesty bills from being passed

·        Makes no promise to finish the southern border wall that was initiated years ago

·        Makes no promise to reverse the abuses that have been allowed to perpetuate federal intervention into States Rights by twisting of the commerce clause

·        Makes no promise to the American People that the Republican Party will restore laws to a solid Constitutional basis or assure their candidates in the future will be Constitutionally competent

To be fair the Pledge does get something right. It “will require each bill moving through Congress to include a clause citing the specific constitutional authority upon which the bill is justified.”  This is good, and props for the folks who put this into the Pledge.

In a last bit of irony President Obama is in the campaign trail trying to re-energize his Party’s popularity by invoking the ‘Change / Yes We Can / I’m here to save the day from the failed Bush policies’ mantra. His message is falling flat as a pancake, just like the Pledge. Both the Democrat and Republican Parties are going to the well, trying the sound bites of the past to sell the voters that the other party is bad – and it’s not working because the American People have found that there is another choice in supporting the T-Party candidates.  We suspect that this will be even more so in the 2012 elections.

The bottom line is that the Pledge to America is a kiss and a promise to do the same thing that the Contract with America was supposed to do. The soft language and omissions make it obvious that it will not fulfill the demands of the T-Party types. It is clear that the Republican Party has brought a knife to a gun fight.  It’s a battle of fundamental substance vs. old sound bites, and the Republicans think that they can absorb people of hard convictions with flowery sounding words instead of solid commitments.  They just don’t get it.

The Republicans will win a majority in the House of Representatives, but not because of the Pledge; only because there are too few ‘T-Party’ candidates – this time.

The Real Crisis in Arizona

A crisis of Biblical proportions has formed in Arizona over the unauthorized immigrants commonly known as ‘illegal aliens’. There are actually two critical issues that have arisen: 1) what to do about illegal aliens in Arizona, and 2) what to do about the new relationship between the citizenry and the federal government.

The problem that precipitated the situation is the failure of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to execute the function of protecting our borders against illegal entry into the United States by foreign individuals.  This failure has put a crime and social services burden on the state of Arizona, which the governor of that state has addressed to protect the integrity of the state.

First let’s look at the national level and see what could be done legally under the Constitution to correct the overall illegal immigrant situation.

The influx of unauthorized immigrants is the result of state businesses seeking labor, and foreign labor seeking employment.  The problem is encouraged by the federal government position allowing uncontrolled migration into the United States and access to those jobs without penalty of deportation/incarceration.  This author has read the immigration laws and they are not the problem, institutionalized circumvention of the laws by the federal government is the problem.

A simple Constitutional solution could be as follows:

·      Have the states submit a statement of foreign labor needs to the INS. The statement would match the needs of the businesses within the individual states and as allowed by the citizens of the states.

·      The INS would issue temporary work permits based on the needs of the states, which would allow qualified labor to reside in the hosting state where the work would be performed.  Labor that necessitates transition between the states (like migrant labor that follows harvest across state lines) would be upon agreement between the states involved.  Foreign labor would be allowed travel access via interstate highways to conduct business between cooperating states.

·      States using foreign labor would be responsible for all social welfare costs and incarceration costs of foreign labor. Any welfare provided will be at the pleasure of the state. Average incarceration costs of labor committing crimes across state lines would be the responsibility of host state.

·      The above are labor agreements between states and are not commerce. 2Therefore they would not come under the commerce clause, and would be beyond the authority of the US Congress.

·      Foreign labor, and any family members allowed by the states, would not be allowed automatic US citizenship due to birth on US soil as they would be under subjection of a foreign homeland.

·      Seal the border under current federal law.

·      Allow 90 days for all unauthorized immigrants to obtain state host permits for temporary work; afterwards all unauthorized immigrants will be deported.

·      After 1 year all reasonable costs to deport unauthorized immigrants will be born by the federal government, payable to the states where the immigrant was detained.

·      Application for citizenship will allowed to foreign laborers that have not committed a felony after a term of lawful residency years agreed to by all of the states of the United States. No special allowances would be made toward citizenship for permitted foreign labor.

This solution retains the states rights to determine their own future, places the burdens of foreign labor on the states benefiting from that labor, allows foreign labor only to the extent determined by the people within the state where the foreign labor will reside, and it is a Constitutional solution.  It also removes the unauthorized immigrants from within the United States so the legal citizens can maintain their culture as they see fit.

Instituting the above solution will fix one problem, but the more serious problem is the revelation of the federal government’s actions and intent against the American people.

Up until now the federal government could claim colossal incompetence in not sealing the border, failure to effectively detain and deport, and even to some extent in blocking state law enforcement from inquiring the legal status of a suspected unauthorized immigrant. However, when the federal government actively supports the illegal enterprise of unauthorized immigration and seeks legal action against states that attempt to follow existing law... then the federal government has crossed the line to an opponent of the Rule of Law and The Constitution.

Think about it, and take these words in well. The federal government is: actively breaking standing laws, engaging in malicious litigation, acting as a proponent of illegal foreign activities that damage the fabric of the United States, opposing the will of the people 1, and is trampling States rights that are guaranteed under the tenth amendment of the Constitution.  Is this not the very definition of tyranny?  Has our federal government become destructive of the ends of the Constitution that are to “form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty”? Where is the justice? Where is the tranquility? Where is our Constitution?

This problem is much bigger than an Arizona law...much, much bigger.
